"Warning shot" ... Russia is cutting NATO wings
The French company "Challengers" revealed that the Russian company "Volga-Dnepr" air cargo, informed NATO that its giant "AN-124" will stop moving NATO air cargo by the end of 2018.
The company made the decision in response to tougher US sanctions against Russia, the magazine said, quoting sources, as a "warning shot".
According to the magazine, the move would be a severe blow to the French army, which still relies heavily on the An-124 Ruslan aircraft in the transport of helicopters and tanks.
The only alternative to the French army is the Airbus A400M military cargo aircraft, but the maximum load is only 25 tons (or 37 tonnes, according to other sources) compared to 100 tons on the plane, "AN-124" Russian.
There is also the option of using the American Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, but this requires France to rebuild its airport infrastructure.
There are also Ruslan aircraft in Ukraine, but the number is lower and the price is higher, and the reliability of Kiev raises serious doubts, according to the magazine.
