Sudan: The State of Qatar has fulfilled more than its commitments to the peace process in Darfur

He stressed that the Presidency of the Republic in Sudan highly appreciates the Qatari development movement in Darfur and looks forward to many additional roles for the Qatar Development Fund and the Qatari organizations. He pointed out that the meetings of the International Committee for the Darfur Peace Strategy chaired by the State of Qatar will be implemented on the ground in the coming period with Partners, effective programs in multiple areas.
The head of the Darfur Peace Office assured the Sudanese people that the peace process in Darfur is fully stabilized and that the impact of the Doha peace document, signed by more than 17 armed movements, has turned into active and lasting political parties.
The Sudanese minister pointed out that Qatar is the most committed to the pledges, providing 75 model villages with international specifications and more than 88.5 million dollars as a commitment through UNDP, all of which opened unprecedented fields for intensive voluntary returns and implementation of government projects. The countries of Chad, Central Africa, South Sudan and Libya have benefited greatly from the peace process in Sudan, which has cast a positive shadow on the region, particularly the Doha peace document in Darfur.
Regarding the prospects of the future peace process in Darfur, Mr. Khalafallah appealed to the international community to follow the example of the State of Qatar, which fulfilled its commitments at the Donor Conference.
