Release of treated water from Fukushima Daiichi: TEPCO applies for implementation plan to the Regulatory Commission

Release of treated water from Fukushima Daiichi: TEPCO applies for implementation plan to the Regulatory Commission by dunrenard December 21, 2021 The Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has announced its plan for the release of treated water containing tritium and other radioactive substances that continues to accumulate at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the sea. Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) held a press conference on April 21 and announced that it has applied to the Nuclear Regulation Authority for an implementation plan in line with the government's policy that the treated water that continues to accumulate at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant will be discharged into the sea in the spring of the next year after being diluted to a concentration below the standard. The plan describes the procedure for diluting the treated water with seawater and the design of an undersea tunnel to be constructed to release the diluted water from 1 km offshore. Af

If our reality has a primary characteristic, then it is the inherent characteristic, which is the crisis. The path of governance and politics in our country has entered the labyrinth of an organic crisis that takes the form of a double deficit. The inability of the existing system (the generals' system) is dominant, which is the culmination of the impotence. And the impotence of the political movement, as if impotence is the law that governs all and the details, except from a mass movement formed in an unprecedented historical mass rise. The nature of the interests and privileges defended by the generals do not extend

FREE FALL: Biden’s Approval Rating Plunges to ‘Historic Low’ in Latest Poll

FREE FALL: Biden’s Approval Rating Plunges to ‘Historic Low’ in Latest Poll President Biden’s approval rating plunged to a record low according to a new survey from NPR/PBS and NewsHour/Marist. The survey found just 41% of voters support Biden, compared with 55% who disapprove of his performance. Those figures are the worst for that polling outfit since Inauguration Day. “Eighty-seven percent of Democrats and just 4 percent of Republicans gave the president positive marks for the job he is doing,” reports The Hill. “Biden’s most recent approval rating is a slight decline from 42 percent in a poll released on Dec. 9. His approval for the polling groups peaked mid-April, when 54 percent of adults gave him positive marks,” adds the website. “Eighty-seven percent of Democrats and just 4 percent of Republicans gave the president positive marks for the job he is doing,” reports The Hill. “Biden’s most recent approval rating is a slight decline from 42 percent in a poll released on Dec. 9. Five christmas book recommendations

Five christmas book recommendations by aletho By Sebastian Rushworth, M.D. | December 18, 2021 I’m taking a break from the blog until the new year, and in light of that I thought I’d recommend some books that have come out in 2021 and that I think are well worth a read over the christmas holidays. A hunter gatherer’s guide to the 21st century. This book, written by evolutionary biologists Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (who also host the excellent Dark Horse podcast), attempts to explain why modern people are so unhealthy, stressed, and dissatisfied with life, by analyzing the many ways in which life in modern civilization differs from the environment that we have evolved to thrive in. The clot thickens. British physician Malcolm Kendrick has made it his life’s work to understand what actually causes heart disease, based on the early realization that the traditional cholesterol hypothesis (widely believed by cardiologists everywhere) has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. In this

Omicron is Not Normal

Omicron is Not Normal by aletho Everything suggests this variant was leaked from a laboratory engaged in gain-of-function research eugyppius | December 20, 2021 Omicron is not normal. No immediate progenitors are known; its closest relatives are viruses last seen in early- to mid-2020. The orthodox explanation for this awkward fact, is that it has spent the last 18 months lurking “in a geography with poor genomic surveillance … or … in a chronically infected individual.” The simpler explanation is that it leaked from a laboratory As el gato malo and others have indicated, evidence is strong that Omicron circulates preferentially in the vaccinated. In all likelihood, it is the result of gain-of-function research, in which it was passaged repeatedly through convalescent or vaccinated plasma, in the hopes of helping the virus evade acquired immunity. The purpose of this research would be to anticipate future immune-escape variants that vaccines might target. Omicron carries a series of

Sir Winston S Churchill in WWII: “We Shall Fight on the Beaches…We will fight in our landing grounds…We shall never surrender…” by donald elley

Sir Winston S Churchill in WWII: “We Shall Fight on the Beaches…We will fight in our landing grounds…We shall never surrender…” by donald elley Sir Winston Churchill speaking to the British Empire from the House of Commons in British Parliament in London on 4 June 1940 in WWII: "...We shall defend to our death our native soil... We shall fight in France,.. We shall fight on the seas and oceans... We shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air... We shall defend our island...Whatever the cost may be... We shall fight on the beaches... We shall fight on the landing grounds... We shall fight in the fields... And in the streets... We shall fight in the hills... We shall never surrender... And if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it, were subjugated and starving... Then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until in God's good time the New World with all its poor

Vietnam poised to resume nuclear project a decade after Fukushima - Nikkei -

Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc (left) and Russian President Vladimir Putin meet in Moscow in November. (Twitter pic/Russian Embassy, UK) Vietnam poised to resume nuclear project a decade after Fukushima Nikkei - HANOI: Vietnam says it will proceed with a project to build a 10-megawatt nuclear research reactor with Russian help, a move seen as a new step toward reviving plans to build nuclear power plants a decade after the Fukushima disaster. Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc was escorted by Vietnamese nuclear experts when he visited Moscow for four days starting Nov 29. The resumption of the nuclear projects was among the topics on the table during the bilateral talks, according to a source familiar with the matter. Although the new research facility will mainly be used to develop medical treatments rather than for power, experts say building such a reactor could be a major stepping stone on the path to resuming Vietnam’s atomic energy programme. Experts say the communist

UK approves vaccine passes and mandatory jabs for healthcare workers

UK approves vaccine passes and mandatory jabs for healthcare workers by aletho OffGuardian | December 15, 2021 Last night the UK Parliament voted through a bill forcing NHS workers to either get vaccinated or lose their jobs, as well bringing in “vaccine passports” for some events and venues. Over 70,000 NHS workers are officially counted as “unvaccinated”, if you trust government numbers. Considering the NHS employs well over a million people, I wouldn’t be surprised if that number were actually much higher. If just half of the unvaccinated workers resign it could put a lot of pressure on the always-over-burdened healthcare system. The government wouldn’t mind that, of course, because it will make it easier to claim the NHS is being “overwhelmed” with Covid patients, and this will be blamed on the unvaccinated and used to justify further mandates and coercion. Any deaths resulting from the under-staffed health system can be PCR tested and added to the “died with Covid” tally. It’s a

NY Times Claims Brazil Is Turning Into Desert, As Foliage Growth Surges - James Taylor

NY Times Claims Brazil Is Turning Into Desert, As Foliage Growth Surges by aletho By James Taylor | ClimateRealism | December 6, 2021 The New York Times published an article Friday titled, “A Slow-Motion Climate Disaster: The Spread of Barren Land.” The article claims global warming is causing drought in northeastern Brazil, turning the region into a desert. Objective satellite measurements of vegetation, however, show increasing vegetation in northeast Brazil and throughout Brazil as a whole, not the other way around. The Times article is merely another example of agenda-driven fake climate news. In its subtitle, the article claims, “Brazil’s northeast, long a victim of droughts, is now effectively turning into desert. The cause? Climate change and the landowners who are most affected.” The article adds, “Climate change is intensifying droughts in Brazil’s northeast, leaving the land barren. The phenomenon, called desertification, is happening across the planet.” NASA satellite inst

We’re teaching our children that when adults are afraid the Constitution is null and void. That most adults fear nature more than they love freedom. That bullying is bad except when it’s government sponsored and culturally sanctioned. That hate speech is bad except when targeting the people the government trains us to hate. That free speech is outdated and dangerous. That censorship is bad except when people expose liars and their lies. That news anchors are B-grade actors in C-grade propaganda productions. That objective journalism is outdated and dangerous. That many of the people who once protested segregation, discrimination and tyranny are now petty tyrants who celebrate segregation and discrimination. That liquor stores are more

Long December looms for US Democrats

Il Trio delle Malebolge. Long December looms for US Democrats. It's going to be a long December for Democrats, and there's reason to believe next year may not be any better than the last. That's the feeling in the party that, for the past 10 months has controlled the presidency and both chambers of Congress but finds it's moving against strong political headwinds at this point. While significant achievements have been realised - a massive Covid relief bill and a historic level of infrastructure funding - the US public seems more concerned about the state of the economy and the continuing disruptions from a Covid-19 pandemic that could see another winter spike in infections and deaths. Some of that is beyond the control of Biden and the Democrats. What is squarely on their agenda for the month, however, is a series of legislative obligations and aspirations that could determine the success or failure of the first year of the Biden presidency. It could also be all Biden
