The Manson Murders, JFK, 9/11, and the Psychopathy of Power--By Kevin Barrett

“ With Alan Scheflin, a forensic psychologist and law professor who’d written a book on MKULTRA, I laid out a circumstantial case linking (CIA mind control guru Jolly) West to Manson. Was it possible, I asked, that the Manson murders were an MKULTRA experiment gone wrong? ‘No,’ he said, ‘an MKULTRA experiment gone right.’” ( CHAOS  , p. 369) The Manson Murders, JFK, 9/11, and the Psychopathy of Power A Review of CHAOS: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties by Tom O’Neill By Kevin Barrett • Unz Review • July 29, 2019 I moved out of Southern California in the summer of 1969. I was ten years old, and my parents were fleeing decadence and depravity in favor of the more wholesome Midwest. Before our move, a story had circulated about some local (Newport Beach) high schoolers who had “gone on an LSD trip” and gotten caught by police. As I understood it, the teenagers had “taken LSD” and started leaping from rooftop to rooftop, “tripping” all over the neigh...

A Non-Hack That Raised Hillary’s Hackles By---- Ray McGovern

A Non-Hack That Raised Hillary’s Hackles By Ray McGovern  Three years ago Monday WikiLeaks published a trove of highly embarrassing emails that had been leaked from inside the Democratic National Committee. As has been the case with every leak revealed by WikiLeaks, the emails were authentic. These particular ones, however, could not have come at a worse time for top Democratic Party officials. The emails made it unmistakably clear that the DNC had tipped the scales sharply against Democratic insurgent Bernie Sanders, giving him a snowball’s chance in hell for the nomination. The posting of the DNC emails is also widely seen as having harmed the the electoral prospects of Hillary Clinton, who could not escape responsibility completely, while a handful of the very top DNC officials were forced to immediately resign. Relatively few Americans read the actual emails, their attention diverted to the incessant media-fostered question: Why Did the Russians Hack the DNC to Hurt Hilla...

Here’s how a new study implies the Supreme Court has killed 16,000 people since 2012 - By Matthew Chapman

Here’s how a new study implies the Supreme Court has killed 16,000 people since 2012  By Matthew Chapman  A new paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research looked into the effects of the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion to people below 138 percent of the poverty line, which has seen nearly 15 million people enrolled in participating states. The results were encouraging: the mortality rate for near-elderly adults has dropped over 9 percent in the four years for which data is available. But while this is cause for celebration, The Atlantic staff writer Annie Lowrey offered a darker take on the implications of these numbers: Lowrey is referring to the Supreme Court’s 2012 decision in National Federation of Independent Businesses v. Sebelius, the landmark case that decided whether key parts of the ACA were constitutional. The Court famously ruled that the individual mandate to purchase health insurance was constitutional, with conservative Chief Just...
