Has Turkey transferred banned electronic components to Iran?
Yedioth Ahronoth: UN investigates whether Turkey transferred electronic components banned by a Security Council resolution to Iran, after the Israeli company that manufactured these components to be behind the deal
Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Thursday a dramatic investigation by the United Nations since July 2017 over the shipment of electronic components seized in the UAE, originating in Turkey, Iran.
In case of suspicion, Turkey would have violated a United Nations Security Council resolution against Iran by banning the transfer of accurate electronic components to Iran.
The United Nations went to Israel on the investigation after it was found that electronic components seized in the UAE were manufactured in Israel, specifically manufactured by the company "Celem Power Capacitors" based in Jerusalem.
The Israeli company followed the disclosure that it does not sell its equipment to countries defined as "enemy" such as Iran, and that it has already sold the components to a reliable Turkish company, but if the Turkish company has transferred the devices to Iran, this is a trick. The company expressed its readiness to cooperate fully with the United Nations.
This report comes amid deterioration in relations between Ankara and Jerusalem on the morals of events in Gaza, initiated by Turkey to expel the Israeli ambassador
