Destroyed facilities at the Bongyi Re nuclear test site in North Korea
North Korea on Thursday bombed three gates and underground facilities at the Bunggyrei nuclear test site.
According to the RT correspondent, the three gates and underground facilities at the Bunggyrei nuclear test site were detonated.
The correspondent added that the explosion in the north of the country was attended by international journalists from 5 countries - South Korea, China, Russia, Britain and the United States as observers for this important event.
The site is one of two important sites for North Korea's nuclear program and the heavy-water nuclear reactor built in the 1990s.
The reporter noted that the atmosphere has been in a state of great anticipation throughout South Korea since yesterday for this important event, amid waiting for an official announcement of the event from North Korea.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), which participated in the dismantling of the test site, confirmed that it was impossible to resume nuclear testing at the site, pointing out that radioactive materials had not been leaked from the explosion.
He added that three gates were blown up and ground observation posts, security facilities and other maintenance facilities were destroyed.
